Firm Philosophy
Most people do not often encounter the legal profession and the court system. It is a new and confusing world. People are not at their best as the marriage they had has crumbled, leaving them hurt, angry confused and, mostly, scared. They are not at their best when they have struggled through the laborious court system to judgment and either find that there were serious errors made affecting them and/or their loved ones, or when the opposing side feels compelled to continue the litigation with a review of what occurred in the Superior Court.
The litigation procedure is based on the premise that each side is competently represented and that each hearing is presided over by an unbiased, knowledgeable and attentive judicial officer. These premises are not always fulfilled. Then, in addition to the unknown of the judicial system, there is the question of whom to trust.
That is why the firm practice has evolved emphasis not only on excellence in the profession, but an ability to work for and with clients as an advisor, counselor, confidant and advocate. The firm and staff, take special care to be responsive to clients, promptly returning inquiries and communicating about personal concerns as well as legal issues and tactics. We recognize that you need to be kept informed about all the aspects of your case, and that ultimately, you have to make the decision as to its conduct. We can inform and consult with you, but we recognize that you have retained us to make an informed decision and to instruct us to represent you according to those dictates.
